Pre-Pharmacy

Pharmacists serve a critical role in healthcare and medication management. An invaluable member of the healthcare team, pharmacists are critical to a patient's wellness. Our program provides individual advising to help students plan and apply for pharmacy school after completing a liberal arts education. Students interested in pharmaceutical careers should consult the program coordinator early in their time at Washington. Those who have noted their interest in considering a career in pharmacy will become aware of expectations, requirements, procedures, and deadlines associated with the program.

External Partnerships

Washington College and the University of Maryland have a 3:4 dual-degree pharmacy program. Through this program, students earn a bachelor of science degree from Washington College in three years and a doctor of pharmacy degree (Pharm. D.) from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMDSOP) after four more. Students interested in this program must major in biology to more easily combine the completion of their degree at Washington with the prerequisite courses needed for UMDSOP.
