Find Your Fit
At Washington, we understand that your college experience is much bigger than the classrooms you earn your degree in. Our campus is the place you spend four years, learning and growing, meeting people and making connections, and discovering who you are and what matters to you. The Washington College campus life experience offers a full range of exciting and vibrant activities for students.
Ways to find your fit
There are more than 80 clubs and organizations on campus, offering weekly meetings and regular events throughout the year. Volunteer, earn a leadership role, or start your own club. There are numerous ways to stay active, through intramural or club sports, fitness classes, and our gym and recreation facilities. Participate in a theatre, dance, or music performance. Support your friends and classmates at their games, performances, and recitals. Attend a guest lecture, workshop, or performance.

There are great places across campus to gather with friends, including Java George, the Golden Goose Pub, the Egg, or Goose Nest in Hodson Hall. Study with classmates at the Miller Library or its terrace. Utilize our outdoor spaces to hang out, relax, or work. Take advantage of our waterfront campus and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Eastern Shore by borrowing a kayak from the Hodson Boathouse to paddle the Chester River, or visit the River and Field Campus.

Our local Chestertown community is also a vibrant place for students to get involved, attend events, make connections, and explore. From local art gallery openings, to weekly farmers markets, to annual celebrations, there are a variety of events to attend in town. Local organizations are interested in working with college students through volunteer work, internships, and other collaborative activities.
