Outdoor Spaces
When you aren't in class or participating in structured activities, you can relax and play in special places on either Washington's main campus or the waterfront campus on the Chester River.
Study on the porch of Semans-Griswold Environmental Hall, stretch out on the College Green after lunch, or visit with friends in any of the places highlighted below!
Waterfront Campus

Students can borrow kayaks at the Waterfront Campus, relax around a fire pit, or walk through a native plant meadow maintained by students working with the Natural Lands Project of the Washington College Center for Environment and Society.
Main Campus

Owings Terrace
Centrally located, the terrace outside the Miller Library is one of the most popular outdoor spaces on campus for studying, socializing, and just enjoying the weather between classes.

College Green
Students picnic, nap, stargaze, and more on the large lawn below the Hill Dorms.

Campus Garden
In addition to being a place where students invest their time and energy in growing nutritious food and caring for chickens, the garden also provides picnic tables and hammocks for relaxing.

Hodson Patio
Hodson Hall offers its own outdoor amenities, with a patio where students can eat, socialize, and watch their friends and classmates on their way to class.
