Creating & Editing a Page

Create a new page

  1. Log into Modern Campus CMS
  2. Navigate to the directory/folder where the new page should reside
  3. Click the blue "+ New" button in the top right
  4. Select the "New Basic Page" option

In the small window that appears, fill in the following fields:

  1. Page Title
    • This is the official title of the page and will appear at the top of the tab and in a search engine result. 
  2. Description
    • A short paragraph which provides a description of the page below a search engine result.
  3. Add Navigation Item
    • Select "No".
  4. Filename
    • The filename is the name of the page within the backend of the website and also becomes part of the URL for the page. The file name should be a simplified version of the page title.
    • Make sure the filename follows the file naming confentions.
    • If you need to rename a file, please contact the Web Team.
  5. Click the "Create" button.

Page Properties

Once your page has been created, you will need to go into the page properties to make a few adjustments.

  1. Make sure the page is checked out to you (the lightbulb icon is yellow).
  2. Click the "Properties" tab.
  3. Under the "Custom Settings" section, uncheck the option to Display the Hero image. Upon creation of the page, the hero image is automatically active, but will not need to be used on interior pages. 
  4. Intro Text
    • This is automatically filled with filler text. Remove or replace.
  5. Navigation Style
    • Select the option: List Style Navigation Without Contact Info.
  6. Save any edits.
