Link Text

When linking text, make sure that the text describes the desination. Avoid generic link text such as "Click Here" or "Learn More".  Images should also not be linked as there would be no visual indication that there is a link to click.

Link Style

When text is linked, a style is atutomatically applied. Do not apply any additional styles such as bold or underline.

Buttons

Buttons are essentially styled links. They are best used to make a link more eye catching. But they can't be used in the midst of body copy in the same way a regular link can.
  1. Log into Modern Campus CMS and navigate to the page you want to add a link to.
  2. Check the page out.
  3. Click your cursor where you want the button to be placed.
  4. Click the "Styles" dropdown in the toolbar and select the style button you wish to use. See details on the styles below.
  5. When the button is placed on the page, type the link text into the button. See the notes on link text.
  6. Highlight the linked text within the button, then click the Insert/Edit Link option in the toolbar.
  7. Continue follow the usual steps for creating a link.

Note: Do not type out link text then add the button style. This will often result in the button not functioning properly. First add the button, then add the text.

There are three styles of buttons. The standard and teal buttons can be used when needed. The external button should only be used when linking to an external website.
