Art Minor
With the art minor at Washington College, study elements of studio art and art history in a small community with a large arts scene. As a department that sees connections between art and every other field of human inquiry, faculty are eager to imagine how your art minor can enrich your major field of study. Whether you focus on historical movements and concepts, want to expand your creative practice, or connect the two, faculty will work closely with you to help you explore your own questions and identify techniques and materials that best communicate your ideas.
Our curriculum engages with contemporary issues and artistic practices through a rigorous, interdisciplinary approach. Through research, ongoing dialogue, experimentation, and critique, you are encouraged to engage with your peers, faculty, and the broader world to pull in outside interests to expand your thinking and worldview.
