The Board of Visitors and Governors confirmed the tenure of five faculty this academic year.

As spring approaches Washington College is pleased to announce five faculty who have recently been approved for tenue by the Board of Visitors and Governors. They include:

Meghan Grosse, associate professor and chair of Communication and Media Studies. Grosse is a critical media scholar whose work focuses on the intersection of new media, media history, and critical media theory. An active and engaged leader on campus, she was also recently awarded the Carolyn Emory Golding ‘74 Junior Faculty Distinguished Teacher Award.

Flavio Hickel, associate professor of political science. With a keen eye to Maryland and national politics, Hickel serves as a regular commentator for the Baltimore Sun. A sought-after source ahead of last year’s presidential election, his commentary was published in over 400 outlets in 2024 including Newsweek, La Nación, and The Washington Post.

Carrie Reiling, associate professor of political science and international studies. In addition to her impressive work and research around international relations, feminist theory, and African politics, Reiling also serves as the competitive fellowship coordinator for Washington College.

Audrey Weil, associate professor of psychology. Her work focuses on understanding patterns of neural activity that predict a person’s ability to reason or estimate probabilities. Weil also serves on the College’s premedical committee.

Caroline Le Bon, assistant professor of business management and director of the marketing minor. After spending more than a decade as a fashion buyer in France before making a move into academics, Le Bon’s research focuses on the evolving sustainability practices adopted by fast fashion brands.

“Congratulations to my colleagues,” said Provost Kiho Kim. “They are remarkable teachers and scholars whose impact resonates far beyond the classroom. Their impressive research is broad and diverse and continues to draw accolades to Washington College. However, what truly distinguishes them is their unwavering commitment to the continued growth of our students, fostering their intellectual and personal development with unparalleled dedication.”
