Intercultural Center

The Intercultural Center is a student-centered location on campus that provides a safe physical space for everyone, but it's also much more than that! The center is a hub for a wide variety of student services, resources, and cultural programs.

  • The Intercultural Affairs Office
  • A hub for commuter students
  • Storage space for affinity groups
  • Gender-neutral bathrooms
  • Computer lab with printing capability
  • Lounge area
  • Conference room
  • Lockers

Intercultural Ambassadors staff the Intercultural Center from 10 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday, giving students a dedicated time to connect with them

In addition to providing space and holding events for all students, the Intercultural Center has seven rooms dedicated to serving various populations and meeting specific needs:

Center for the Study of Black Culture

The CSBC uplifts the perspectives, values, and experiences of Black students and fosters cultural celebration, leadership development, social connection, and educational support on campus and in Chestertown.

Class of 2025 Obella M. Obbo Student Wellness Room

 A private, quiet space designed for virtual mental health appointments or private retreats—away from roommates, friends, and interruptions. The space is equipped with comfort items and wellness tools.

EmpowHERment Hub

A community space uplifting women’s voices, leadership, and connection. It fosters empowerment, solidarity, and opportunities for growth.

Interfaith & Meditation Room

A quiet space with tools for personal prayer and reflection, such as prayer and yoga mats, that also provides a room for faith-based gatherings, including weekly interfaith "Sacred Conversations."

LGBTQ+ Commons

A welcoming space for queer, questioning, and all LGBTQ+ students to gather, rest, and build community. It exists to affirm identity, foster belonging, and support students’ well-being.

A supportive environment where men can connect, reflect, and explore positive identity development. This space encourages community, well-being, and personal growth.
