Jason Patterson
Jason Patterson first worked with the Starr Center in 2019 as our Frederick Douglass Visiting Fellow. During that time, he began his project: On the Black History of Kent County & Washington College. Since then, Jason has worked with the Starr Center in various ways, especially through the Chesapeake Heartland Project.
Jason's artwork centers around African American history, with a focus on the Black history of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. His work consists of portraiture, the recreation of historic texts/documents and the designing and building of ornate, period appropriate, wood frames that house his portraits and documents.
