Washington Scholars Program

The Washington Scholars Program was developed to provide the benefits of a Washington College education to Maryland residents who may not otherwise have the opportunity because of substantial financial need. This program seeks high-performing students who are passionate about and dedicated to their academic and extracurricular pursuits. While relieving financial concerns is a major benefit, the College recognizes that there is more to a transformative college experience than financial resources; hence, Washington Scholars is a program, not merely a scholarship.

Maryland residents must be nominated by a high school counselor, teacher, community leader, or WC admissions and are required to complete the FAFSA and MHEC One-App and be Pell- and Guaranteed Access Grant-eligible. The renewable annual scholarship covers tuition, housing (double room rate), and the meal plan; students are responsible for $2,500 per year, books, and any indirect costs incurred, such as personal travel.
