Our Graduates: Tim Marcin

Tim  Marcin

Class of 2013 • Journalism & Digital Media
Tim Marcin was an English major with minors in Creative Writing and Business. During his time at Washington College, Tim wrote and edited for The Elm, was a part of the soccer team, won the Beacham and Warner Writing Prize in 2012, and eventually won the Sophie Kerr prize his senior year. He currently works as a culture writer for Mashable in NYC. His past employment includes working for Vice, Newsweek, and International Business Times. Tim says that WAC’s creative writing community helped him to take chances with his writing and be a little weird. Tim didn’t really know he wanted to be a writer until he spent time with so many students and professors who loved the written word.
