Fall Birding Program
Join Dan Small, Associate Director of Natural Land Stewardship, and the Washington
College Birding Club on the third Friday of each month for a guided bird walk at Conquest Preserve in Queen Anne's County.
Dates: September 20 • October 18 • November 15 • December 20
Conquest Preserve, a Queen Anne's County property, is approximately 700 acres which
encompasses a wide range of diverse habitats including water frontage on both the
Chester River and the Corsica River. The majority of our time will be spent exploring
the extensive native grasslands and numerous wetlands that dominate the park, but
we will also look for wildlife using mature woodlands, hedgerows and the open waters
of the neighboring rivers. We will be following relatively flat mowed grass paths,
but the park is large and we will be covering several miles on each walk. 202 species
of birds have been found at the Park.
Please sign up using the form below to help us know how many people to expect for
each walk. Happy birding!
