History Crush- Leah Hackett Frederick

It’s easy to see why Leah Frederick, class of 1936, was described by this anonymous Pegasus writer as “bewitching everyone that she meets on the campus” even without her “wide smile” on display

I was quite literally stopped in my tracks while flipping through old yearbooks when I came across this natural beauty with an arresting gaze. Sporting a casual updo and plain high V-neck blouse, this “charming blonde bit o’ Baltimore” let her young Robin Wright looks speak for themselves. My interest in Leah only increased when I saw her slew of extracurriculars and activities- this sorority president found time between her hockey and basketball practices and games to participate in the Mt. Vernon Society and the Historical Society. According to church records, Leah married a man named John Perry Jr., the same year she graduated, in 1936, but since when has unavailability- or a nine-decade separation in time ever stopped a crush?
