Campus EV Charging Stations Upgraded
Public is invited to power up at a discounted fee.
Washington College recently announced the upgrade of its electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on campus. Three new stations with two charging ports each behind Bunting Hall and one at the Tennis Center have been installed, offering improved charging performance and enhanced convenience for the campus community and the public. The stations will be available for use starting February 14, 2025. All other charging stations on campus have been decommissioned and are no longer available.
"These upgraded stations reflect our commitment to sustainability and provide valuable resources for both our students, faculty, and staff, as well as the local community," said Irving Bruckstein, Washington College Chief Information Officer.
The new stations offer faster charging speeds for a more convenient user experience. Powered by ChargePoint, the public will be charged a discounted fee of $0.40 per kilowatt-hour. The ChargePoint mobile app is available for Apple and Google devices and allows users to check station availability, make reservations, and receive charge completion notifications.
