    Military Appreciation Day

Washington College is proud to celebrate the men and women of our community who have served or are currently serving in the United States armed forces.

The College's connection to U.S. veterans runs deep, beginning with our namesake, George Washington, who was commissioned by the Continental Congress as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army on June 19, 1775.

Following in the footsteps of George Washington, Washington College veterans have played a significant role throughout our history in defending and protecting the freedom of the United States of America and its citizens.

We expect a large turnout for our veterans. Festivities include unfurling of a giant America Flag during halftime ceremonies, cameo hats for alumni who participate in the flag furling and unfurling and an introduction of our Featured Profile, Ted Greeley, Colonel, USMC (Ret), 1993 graduate of Washington College, and former lacrosse assistant coach.
