Ashley Dummitt '22

Major: Political Science

I currently work for the American Council of Trustees and Alumni as the Program Associate for Development. I also am a NASM Certified personal trainer. I also am a competitive powerlifter, being a 3x Maryland state record holder (USPA and WRPF) and 1x National deadlift record holder (WRPF 100kg jr 20-23 women).

Favorite Professors

Professor Prud'homme played a huge role in helping me start my career in the Higher Education non profit space. I also really enjoyed all classes with Professor Reiling! Chinese with Professor Hull has to take the place as my favorite class(es) though!

Let’s Hear It for the Liberal Arts

Washington College allowed me to live off campus and graduate in three years, letting me really grow into my role as an adult, regardless of being younger than my classmates. WC enabled me to push myself as much as I wanted to and could handle, and I am forever grateful for that!

Advice

Take advantage of all of the unique course offerings in all departments, and don't be afraid to push yourself, even if you are taking a class you are not familiar/comfortable with yet!
