Remembering Joe Seivold Jr. ’58

“I would say WC in general held a very high place in my parents’ heads and hearts," says son Joseph Seivold. "Clearly Chestertown was home to them. With my dad playing three sports and my mom, Sarah Sachse Seivold ’57, being heavily involved in her sorority, they fully dived into life at WC from the time they were there and throughout their lives.”

Deborah Sherin Marindin '60 recounts, "I knew Sarah, Joe’s wife. She was my big sister in Zeta Tau Alpha. She went out of her way to mentor me and be a good friend to me. This was very thoughtful, as I was a freshman and she was a senior and a popular one at that. She was president of our sorority, played field hockey, basketball, was an excellent student and spent A LOT of any free time with Joe. I felt quite lucky to become friends with Joe because of Sarah. He was very quiet and I’m sure I wouldn’t have known him well without Sarah’s friendship."
