Dr. Rudawska, a Full Professor of Marketing at the University of Szczecin in Poland, joined the Washington College Department of Business Management for this academic year as a visiting professor, teaching Marketing Management and Principles of Marketing. Dr. Rudawska's research interests include sustainable marketing strategies.

The World Marketing Summit was founded in 2011 by Dr. Philip Kotler to bring together like-minded people who believe that a better world can be created through marketing. This is the third year of the Electronic World Marketing Summit (eWMS) format, running simultaneously in countries around the world.  This year's theme was “Marketing Changes to Meet Sustainability Goals” with viewership expected to exceed last year’s 41 million global audience, featuring over 100 speakers.

Known as the Father of Modern Marketing, Dr. Kotler was instrumental in extending understanding of buyer behavior beyond the economic view of price sensitivity by introducing the concept of the marketing mix, adding promotion, place, and product to price as necessary to understand demand. Dr. Kotler’s belief that the marketing task must be carried out “in a way that preserves or enhances the consumer’s or society’s well-being” leads him to recruit the best minds from industry, non-profits, governments, and academia to seek ways to use marketing to address critical socio-economic issues around the world.
