Commitment to Community
Commitment to Community
Service can be one of the most gratifying aspects of the college experience, and it plays a big role in the lives of Washington College Students.
Along with dedicating their time to improve the community, many WC students are involved in community work to gain professional experience or build relationships beyond those made on campus. Community service projects differ based on an individual’s time commitment, interests and experience. However, the Office of Student Engagement can help you find a volunteer opportunity, regardless of prior experience or time commitment.
Whether you prefer working with children, preserving the environment, feeding the hungry, or brightening the lives of the elderly, you will find plenty of opportunities to get involved in the surrounding community. Our core community partners include the Kent Food Pantry, Kent County schools, and Habitat for Humanity.
