Gibson Center for the Arts

Home to academic classrooms, the Kohl Gallery, Hotchkiss Hall, Decker Theatre, and Tawes Theatre, the Daniel Z. Gibson Center curates a creative space for artists of all types.

The Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts places the arts at the heart of the liberal arts experience and as a cultural center for Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

There are three performance spaces of human scale and functional design—a 200-seat music recital hall, an experimental theatre seating 150 and a 420-seat  main stage proscenium theatre. Each space can be accessed through a common glassed lobby that overlooks Martha Washington Square. The Gibson Center is also home to the Kohl Gallery, a visual arts space which curates diverse and interdisiplinary programming within the liberal arts.
