    Food Initiative Intern

Majors: Environmental Science and International Studies
    Minors: Justice, Law, and Society

From watching documentaries in high school regarding sustainability and the environment to taking her first environmental studies class at Washington College, Emily has developed a passion for environmental protection on a global scale.

After becoming interested in environmental studies in high school, Emily decided to pursue a major in Environmental Studies as well as majoring in International Studies. In her first environmental studies class at Washington College, she fell in love with being able to work outside in the field and being able to connect with the environment around her. Through this opportunity Emily hopes to connect with nature through food and adapt sustainable practices into her daily life, to help her live her mission statement.

Emily also participates in numerous activities around campus. During her first year at Washington College, Emily was a part of Washington College’s field hockey team, as well as being a student collaborator at the Global Education Office. In her second year Emily has plans to be an international student guide, a campus garden officer focusing on ethnobotany and outreach, as well as continuing to be a student collaborator at the Global Education Office. In her free time, Emily loves to explore new places and go on adventures with her friends.

Emily is so grateful for this opportunity and is excited to share and practice everything that she learns over the course of the summer.
