Marketing Success

Noah  Vargas

Class of 2023 • Chestertown, Maryland
An outgoing student, Noah Vargas ’23 was searching for a summer experience when he came across a position in the Admissions and Marketing department here at Washington College. Holding minors in both Communications and Media studies and Marketing, Noah immediately knew the position was perfect for him.

As an Admissions and Marketing Intern through the Rebecca Corbin Loree Internship, Noah’s summer is looking both informative and fun as he navigates engaging a social media following and building websites for the department.

With a supportive team beside him, Noah has been hard at work creating content for the WC Admissions social media pages, from tours of academic buildings to an Instagram Reel highlighting kayaking at the Boathouse; “We were able to have fun and be creative with how we made the video, and all in all it was a very enjoyable day at work!”

It’s not just technical skills he’s developing either – working in the Admissions and Marketing department entails lots of communication and collaboration between teams, even if it has put Noah outside his initial comfort zone.

“I’ve learned how to be more confident in myself going forward and taking more risks in order to improve. This internship has also been essential in improving my communication skills and being more outgoing!”

And outgoing he is – Noah’s time here at WC has certainly lent itself to creating connections with people as he engages both inside the classroom and through his extracurriculars.

A dedicated member of numerous associations on campus including SGA, SEB, and the American Marketing Association, as well as the 2023 Class President, Noah came into his internship with a passion for collaboration and marketing.

“Being a team player was extremely important to learn...especially being in the different clubs I [am] in, like SGA and SEB. Being able to effectively collaborate with others was something I was able to carry over into my internship. In the Admissions Marketing department, we are constantly communicating and brainstorming ideas, so in order to make the best product we must all work together!”

And while his summer experience may have come to an end, Noah is looking forward to pursuing his Masters degree following graduation, with hopes of entering a career in marketing or event planning.
