Kate serves two roles at Washington College. She serves as the Business Intelligence and Institutional Research Analyst in Institutional Research and as a Lecturer in the Department of Business Management at the College.

In her role as a Lecturer in the Department of Business Management for the Business Analytics course. She teaches students to think critically about business information about make data driven decisions.

She received a Bachelors of Arts from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, majoring in Mathematical Biology. She has a Masters of Science in Data Analytics from University of Maryland Global Campus. She holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus. Her dissertation was titled "Adopting Analytics: A Framework for Nonprofit Organizations". She was inducted in the Phi Kappa Phi honor society in 2016.

She has worked at Washington College since 2002, starting as the Manager of IT Support Services (HelpDesk) in the Office of Information Technologies. She has also served as the Director of Advancement Services in the Office of College Advancement. In that capacity, she served as the chief information officer for the Office of College Advancement, providing strategic leadership to create and manage an effective infrastructure to support the College’s fundraising and alumni relations efforts. She now serves the Institutional Research office by integrating business intelligence technology to assist with data management and develop reports, analyses, and dashboards that support decision making and planning for the college. 

 

Kate is the coeditor of the book: Teaching Data Analytics: Pedagogy and Program Design published by CRC Press in 2020. 

She coauthored a journal article: Case Study: A Systematic Review of the Most Effective Career Training Programs for a Workforce Board published in the Muma Business Review in 2020.

Kate also enjoys playing the clarinet in the Washington College Symphonic Band.
