At Washington College we take an interest in getting to know you. With our small class sizes, 12:1 student-faculty ratio and just over 1,450 undergraduate students you are a person, not a number.
Why Washington College?
Located in Chestertown, Maryland, Washington College is a liberal arts institution rich in history and tradition. Founded in 1782, Washington College was the first college chartered under the new nation. We are named after our nation’s first president, George Washington, who served on our Board of Visitors and Governors until 1789. Today, we have students from 33 states and 22 nations around the world. With more than 40 majors and academic programs to choose from, students can shape a course of study that fits their own intellectual interests and career aspirations.
As a college counselor, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and your family about the college selection process. We believe Washington College provides a tremendous opportunity for higher learning. You will develop personal relationships with professors and classmates that will enhance your educational experience and benefit you well beyond your years spent here at Washington College.
I would encourage you to come visit us and spend a day on the Eastern Shore. You’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery of campus and the quaint, comfortable and relaxing community that is Chestertown. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me. We are here to assist you in the process!
