The business fundamentals that I researched and analyzed while completing my capstone are still present everyday of my life.

How has your liberal arts education influenced you? How do you apply your LAE in your current career?

In my opinion, business is all about asking the right questions, having a strong presence, and communicating strategically. The culture, curriculum and extra-curricular experience that I acquired at Washington College was crucial to that. If you are a student who doesn’t play a sport or actively participate in a club or association - please start getting involved. Become a vice president of a club, help raise money for a cause, do something to improve the campus - these experiences relate directly to the responsibilities you will have in the business world.

Who was your favorite faculty/staff member? Story?

Prof. Michael Harvey. The guy just gets it. Read the books he recommends, meet with him for a coffee outside of class, spark a conversation about a Wall St Journal article, and get his perspective - you will be better for it.

What is your favorite Washington College memory?

Homecoming. The SGA worked to bring back the tradition of Homecoming and the first one was a hit. From setting it up to bringing down the tents, it was a fantastic display of Washington College culture.

Did your Senior Capstone Experience (or thesis project) have a major influence on your future career or your personal growth? If so, please explain what your SCE entailed and how it influenced who or where you are today.(Internships, fellowships, Society of Junior Fellows projects, etc.)

The business fundamentals that I researched and analyzed while completing my capstone are still present everyday of my life. Try to pick out an industry that interests you; the capstone will prepare you very well for your interviews.
