Alicia Shipley serves as the GIS Analyst I working on the Maryland Highway Safety Office grant. She has worked on every project within the grant ranging from impaired driving analysis to the Maryland Strategic Highway Safety Plan Emphasis Areas for analysis on Aggressive Driving Crashes, Ped/Bike Crashes, Occupant Protection Crashes, and Distracted Driving Crashes. She also analyzes and QAQCs the statewide crash and citation data. She has worked on the MHSO grant for almost four years.
Alicia previously attended Washington College for two years, majoring in English. During her time there she was a staff writer for the Elm, as well as participated in the Women’s Rowing Team. She then transferred to the University of Maryland where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Digital Media and Web Tech minor. Alicia also serves as the editor in chief of the GIS Program’s blog, GIS On the Chester.
