BUS 202 Marketing
BUS 401 Strategic Management
BUS 451 Advertising
I teach the classes at the beginning and end of the business program. Marketing is the first substantive business course that most students take. In addition to learning facts, students have to develop a marketing plan for an on-campus or downtown business. Strategic Management is our capstone course. In it students have to do a strategic analysis of a company of their choosing.
BUS 330 International Business Experience
My wife and I love to travel, and we try to do so as much as possible during the summer. We have been to practically every state in the United States. Outside of the United States we have traveled to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong,Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Wales.
From 2003 through 2007, I escorted a select group of students to Europe for a course in International Business Experience. We visited several EU institutions, international and local businesses, and had presentations from various government officials and local academics. Please see The Leiden Course.
By the summer of 2008, the exchange rate made going to Europe too expensive. Therefore, the International Business Experience course was conducted in China that summer. I had taught at Nanjing University in China in summer 1999. We went to China again in 2009 and in 2011. In January 2010 the International Business Experience course was conducted in India between the fall and spring semesters. In summer 2012 we went to Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. In summer 2013 we went to Germany and in 2014 to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria. Where will we go in 2015?
The Bible, The Old Man and the Sea, and Alice In Wonderland.
