Sophie is currently a law student at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She will be spending Summer 2015 as a summer associate at McKenna, Long, & Aldridge in Washington, D.C. Last summer, she worked as a judicial intern to the Honorable William C. Nickerson of the United States District Court in the District of Maryland, located in Baltimore, Maryland.
While at U.Va. Law, Sophie was the President of the First Year Council and later became the Secretary of the Student Bar Association. She is also on the editorial board of the Virginia Law & Business Review, and in her second year of the Peer Advisor program.
Before law school, Sophie worked as a legislative intern at Dickstein Shapiro LLP in Washington, D.C.
Sophie graduated summa cum laude from Washington College in 2013. She majored in both Business and Economics, graduating fifth in her class of several hundred. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Women’s NCAA Division III Soccer Team, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and much more. She served as the Secretary of Service for the Student Government Association, focusing on enhancing the CaseyTime student service initiative.
She received several honors, including the Outstanding Community Service Award and the Economics Department Most Promising Graduate. Her thesis, A Strategic Analysis of Monsanto Co., received departmental honors. She was also a member of over half a dozen honor societies, including the Presidential Fellows, and received a grant to conduct legal research in the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court from the Cater Society of Junior Fellows, while serving as a courtroom clerk in the summer of 2012.
