Anya Bent ’84

After ten years of work as a real estate paralegal, Anya Bent ’84 decided it was time for a change. She went back to one of her first loves—a love of literature she first discovered at WC in classes with Professors Richard DeProspo and Rich Gillin.

Now Anya teaches English, grades nine and twelve, at Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury, MA. With two master’s degrees in hand, she is also pursuing a doctorate in education. “My entire foundation is from Washington College. I certainly would not have been able to further my education otherwise,” she says. “My time at Washington College ignited a passion for learning, and for that I am grateful.”
