Environment and Society Fellows

Environment & Society (E&S) Fellows are highly engaged Washington College students who demonstrate a commitment to their academics and an interest in the environment, wildlife, and the people that live in them. E&S Fellows have the opportunity to build community through social activities, participate in professional development, and receive priority consideration for internships and Chesapeake Semester.

CES believes that solving environmental problems requires a multi-disciplinary approach, the Fellows program includes students who major or minor in environmental science & studies, but also students of other majors who have an interest in environmental action.

Each year, CES offers select admitted students the opportunity to apply to the E&S Fellows program prior to enrollment.  Students admitted prior to enrollment will receive a renewable yearly scholarship of $3,000.

In the spring semester of each academic year, currently enrolled students will have the opportunity to apply to become E&S Fellows.  While the scholarship is not available to these students, all other benefits of being an E&S Fellow are open and available to students who are invited to join after a spring application.
